The Wii U was slightly more powerful than the PS3/360, the Switch is much less powerful than the PS4/XB1. Graphical power isn't a significant factor in Nintendo console sales. The Wii was far less powerful than the PS3/360 and it outsold both of them.Xbox 360 is a cheap system to collect for, you can get almost any game for $20 or less. I'd go for a slim model just for reduced risk of hardware failure. In my opinion for multiplatform games the Xbox 360 versions perform better than PS3 versions of the same game (RDR comes to mind).
Compare and contrast: the Switch came out in 2017, and has sold 89 million units. The PS3, during its entire functional lifetime (2005-2016), sold 87.4 million, while the Xbox 360 (2005-2016) sold
