The Apple TV box will work with any TV that has an HDMI input. If your 3rd generation worked fine, then so will a newer model. In 2021, I would say go for the 4K model to be ready for the coming years, particularly if you have of 4K TV or consider getting one while you still have the your upcoming Apple TV box.
Additionally on my YouTube tv app on iPhone and iPad I cannot AirPlay live content, but I can airplay shows that were recorded in my YouTube tv app. I did a reset on my Apple TV and it did not solve the problem. This issue occurred after I updated Apple TV 7.5 and iOS 13.4 and iPadOS 13.4.
Apple is not even aware of the issue, but I would believe someone knows. The fact is the Apple TV 3rd generation still works with devices running iOS 15.7 and iPadOS 15.7.
