When you press the eject button, the NAV screen shows it is trying to eject but it does nothing. You dont hear any mechinical sounds of disk ejection either. It just gives up and acts as if a new dvd is inserted and starts reading it.

When the disc drive got stuck in my case, I had to open the DVD player on several occasions, and remove the disc manually. It's quite easy to do. Just take off the outer case, and then remove the top of the dvd drive (just a few screws). Takes 5 mins. As to my attempts to solder in a new IC chip - that's another story.
